An interpretation of 19th and 20th Century architectural ideals, principles and theories and an examination of the impact of these concepts on Australian architectural and environmental development. Theoretical approaches to the concept of 'community'. The influence of physical, social, economic and political factors on planning, individuals and land use. 'Modernism' and 'the modern movement'. Issues facing the architect and the profession of architecture in today's world.
