Introduction


This course is designed for those seeking an understanding of professional accounting and who may intend to progress into the Master of Professional Accounting course. It provides students with a comprehensive understanding of, and competencies in, Australia and international accounting and auditing concepts, methods and practices, and thereby equips them for a professional accounting career. It enhances students' capabilities in conceptual thinking in interpersonal and communicating skills and in the use of analytical methods required for effective diagnosis of accounting theories, concepts and techniques.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites


A degree, a graduate certificate or equivalent qualification.

Recognition of Prior Learning


Applications for recognition of prior learning are not considered within this course.

Duration and Availability


This fee paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards


A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award, subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. Course Organisation


The course is made up of 8 units - 6 core units plus 2 optional units, totalling 200 credits. It encompasses a broad range of professional Accounting concepts and equips students for professional practice.
