It combines core units in media ethics and media law with units in newspaper, radio and television production. Students enrolled in the program will publish or broadcast their work through The Curtin Independent, CurtinFM 100.1 and Channel 31. All production facilities are provided ensuring that students are provided with a professional working environment, enabling them to participate in a supportive and productive culture. The program is administered and taught by academic and industry professionals, with experience at all levels of media production and management. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesA bachelors degree or equivalent. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Duration and AvailabilityThis fee-paying course is of one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. Course OrganisationStudents are required to participate in production classes outside the normal lecture or tutorial program. Some students may be eligible to undertake an industry placement program in their final semester. Professional RecognitionGraduates may be eligible for membership to the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance. Additional Course ExpensesStudents may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
