It develops an understanding of the latest techniques involved in the detection, spread and control of infectious diseases. An extensive review of literature and a supervised research project is also undertaken. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesAn approved undergraduate degree in medical science, nursing or equivalent and two years work experience. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Duration and AvailabilityThe program is available on a three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units may be available externally. Intermediate AwardsA student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate Hospital Infection Control or Graduate Diploma Infection Control in Health Care may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School.
