Introduction


This course offers a choice of either a major in Asian Languages, Asian Studies - Area Studies or Intercultural Communication. Depending upon the major chosen, study is undertaken in either Indonesian, Japanese, Korean or Chinese (Mandarin) languages, a selection of Asian studies units or intercultural communication units and additional study in a discipline to be selected from a wide range of study options available. Students are invited to take advantage of the versatility of the course in preparing a program of study suitable to individual academic interests and professional vocational needs.

Recognition of Prior Learning


Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability


The course is of three years full-time or equivalent part-time study. A number of units are available in the external study mode. Language units are available in the internal mode only.

Course Organisation


Students select a major in Intercultural Communication or Asian Studies.

Additional Course Expenses


Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
