150004 v.2 Master of Health Services ManagementMHSM(Curtin) IntroductionThis course further develops the ability to plan, manage, monitor and co-ordinate systems of health care delivery. It is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to uphold senior management, administrative and planning positions within health service institutions. It is aimed at both health professionals wishing to acquire management and administrative skills and non health professionals intending to seek a career in health services management. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesApproved health science degrees although graduates from other backgrounds will also be considered. Applicants with the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Administration will be eligible to apply and have completed units credited. Duration and AvailabilityThe course is three semesters full time or equivalent part-time study. Intermediate AwardsA student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Administration may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. Additional Course ExpensesStudents may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
