Syllabus: | This unit focuses on developing students' understanding of construction systems used in medium-scale buildings, including precast concrete, curtain walling, internal partition and ceiling systems, alternative glazing and cladding systems, and general approaches to detailing. A specialist lecture on general structural engineering of reinforced concrete floors and retaining structures is provided. Students undertake related field trips and are provided with an introduction to the philosophy and general requirements of architectural working drawings. |
