308886 (v.2) Geotechnical Engineering 368 or any previous version

308887 (v.1) Transportation Engineering 366 or any previous version
Syllabus: Select a suitable topic and supervisor for a project (usually completed before the start of the year). Undertake some preliminary study of topic. Formulate a detailed scope for the project. Conduct a detailed experimental or developmental study of a selected process, device or structure. Satisfactorily report on progress to the School and supervisor at required times. Write a technical report for the project - consisting of an account of the work involved, together with results and conclusions of the analysis, experimental work and design as appropriate. Write a technical paper for the project summarising and presenting the key outcomes. Make a formal oral presentation in a conference style session at the end of the year. Attend the end of year conference and contribute as required – for example, assessment of presentations, asking questions or chairing a session.
