Syllabus: | Periodontology - periodontium, periodontal disease - aetiology, pathogenesis, host response, tissue changes, classification. Patient assessment, treatment planning, prevention and treatment of chronic periodontitis and caries. Instruments and instrumentation. Restorative dentistry - review of cavity preparation design principles. Standard and modified preparations. Bonding materials. Matrices, restoration of prepared cavities. Polishing and recontouring. Dental radiography - X-radiation, image productionand quality, safety, intra-oral techniques, interpretation, errors. Laboratory practice in oral health therapy procedures. |
