Syllabus: | Addresses a subset of both the knowledge and competency requirements of the International Federation of Accountants International Education Guide 11 (IEG11, 2003), 'Information Technology for Professional Accountants'. Prepares professional accountants to work in the information technology environment. Provides professional accountants with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to enable them to demonstrate a required level of competency in the use of information technology and computer-based information systems. Specifically addresses three key competency areas identified in IEG11: Appendix 1, General Information Technology Knowledge Requirements: Systems Acquisition and Development; Appendix 2, User Role Competencies; Appendix 5, Designer Role Competencies This unit is of significant practical use for students who will be intensive users (and preparers) of financial statements in their prospective careers e.g. accountants, credit analysts, securities analysts, financial consultants, and those intending a career in banking or merchant banking. |
