314169 v.1 Graduate Certificate in Paramedicine

Registered full-time Duration for International Onshore Students on student visas: 1 Year

Introduction

The Graduate Certificate in Paramedicine is a collaborative program offered by the School of Nursing and Midwifery in conjunction with St John Ambulance Association, Western Australia. This course is designed to provide registered nurses with the appropriate knowledge and skills to become ambulance paramedics. The course includes an extensive internship with the St John Ambulance Association.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent or a hospital-based diploma and registration as a comprehensive or general nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA). You must have at least 24 months’ experience in an acute area of practice.

Note

The following clearances are required before applying for this course: Criminal record screening and clearance, Communicable diseases, Working with children, Current WA drivers license. All prosepective applicants will be subject to an interview and selection process with St John Ambulance Association and Curtin University.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

This course is one year part-time study.
