Introduction
This course provides health and human service professionals with advanced interprofessional skills in research, to work in mental health recovery and psychosocial interventions with consumers, family members, and carers.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Bachelor degree in nursing (or eligible for registration as a registered nurse), occupational therapy, psychology, social work or relevant degree with a minimum of one year experience post-qualification in mental health or related practice area.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is three years part-time study.
Intermediate Awards 1
A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:

Course Organisation
This course equips health and human service professionals with advanced interprofessional skills and knowledge in mental health recovery and psychosocial interventions. It focuses on working in partnership with consumers, family members and carers in mental health.
Professional Recognition
Registered nurses practising within the mental health field in Australia may be eligible to apply for credentialing as a Mental Health Nurse (MHN).
Career Opportunities
Graduates from this course are mental health leaders, facilitating change in the mental health system and modelling the principles of recovery and psychosocial intervention. They support and supervise staff working in government and non-government mental health areas.
