Introduction
This is a rapidly growing area which offers a variety of career paths. By introducing students to the principles of management as well as their applications to the tourism and event sector, this major provides students with the relevant knowledge and skills to become effective managers in both of these closely related sectors in Australia and overseas. Students will for instance study contemporary issues in international tourism, discuss the sustainable management of tourism and events in theory and practice, learn about the wider impacts of tourism and events on the oval and global economy and also the role of marketing in both sectors.
