Introduction
This course is designed to provide foundation studies for students intending to undertake bachelor degrees in the Faculties of Science and Engineering and Health Sciences. It is particularly suitable for those who have not had an opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills in sciences and mathematics. Female students are encouraged to apply. Successful completion of the course will satisfy the University's eligibility requirements and students will be eligible to apply for admission to Courses within the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Health Sciences as outlined in the Course Completion Information.
Course Entry Requirements
Applicants who have had limited educational opportunity are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on an assessment of previous educational background and a personal statement which may include information on any community involvement and other achievements. An interview may also be required. Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds may be directed to English Language Bridging courses.
Duration and Availability
1 year full-time or part-time equivalent.
Course Organisation
A study program is determined by the Undergraduate Coordinator following an interview and an assessment of career pathways by the student. Depending on units undertaken, this may not be a standard full-time load.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.

Special Note
For entry into Pharmacy of Physiotherapy students must pass 200 credits with a CWA ≥ 75%. For entry into all Engineering courses, Astronomy, Environmental Science, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Medical Imaging Science students must pass 200 credits with a CWA ≥ 65%. For entry into all other Science and Health Science courses students must pass 150 credits with a CWA ≥ 50% (assumes any specific course prerequisites are met).
