Introduction

This course provides advanced specialist course and project work in clinical pharmacy, emphasising the evaluation of an area in this field.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Above average performance in a pharmacy or other relevant degree, an appropriate honours degree or a relevant postgraduate diploma.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Units are usually scheduled to facilitate part-time study. Clinical Pharmacy Project 697 requires a significant time commitment to allow for completion in the semester duration. Not all optional units are available each year.

Intermediate Awards 1

A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:

Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy.

Course Organisation

After completing the equivalent of one academic year of course work, students complete the equivalent of an additional semester of advanced coursework and a clinical pharmacy project.

Professional Recognition

Members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Western Australia successfully completing this course may apply for Fellowship of the Society. This course does not qualify a graduate for registration as a pharmacist.

Additional Course Expenses

Students are expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials. Students may require a laboratory coat.
