Syllabus:	This unit is a general introduction to the analysis of texts, through an examination of practices and genres, and critical analysis of the relationship between the social and the textual. It develops an understanding of what constitutes discipline knowledge and how it can be applied. Students also gain the ability to think critically, creatively and reflectively.
