Compounding and discounting. Investment appraisal, payback periods, discounted cash flows, net present values, internal rate of return. Regular and irregular cash flows, residual and salvage values, annuities, perpetuities and equivalent annuities. Perennial and annual crops. Comparing finance and investment alternatives: leasing or owning. Machinery economics, current-cost or inflation accounting. Capitalrecovery and other methods for estimating annual costs.
