Syllabus: | This unit covers several aspects of human development from fertilization to birth. This includes the normal development and growth of human body, cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying human development such as the factors, which mediate cell proliferation, differentiation and death. The unit also covers the genetic and developmental origins of abnormal development that may lead to adult human diseases and the methods used to avoid and reverse these diseases such as stem cell technologies. |
