The Intensive English Program (IEP) is a short-course program designed to improve English language proficiency. It is also intended for students who are interested in pursuing tertiary education and meet the academic requirements, but lack the English language proficiency to do so. There are four levels: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate.
This course is designed for Malaysian students who have completed secondary school education or international students who are academically eligible to enrol in a foundation/diploma/degree program.
There are four intake terms per year. Each term is made up of 10 teaching weeks. In each term, ongoing assessments and end of term tests are conducted to determine progress to higher levels. Certificates of completion and examination transcripts are awarded to successful students at the end of each term. There are 20 contact hours per week. Each level comprises 15 hours of core work and 5 hours of elective work.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
