| Syllabus: | Across the field of design, the advancement in technology has changed the way we work and the creative outcomes we produce as designers. This unit explores the design context of digital future interfaces across design disciplines. In this unit students embark on a purposeful exploration of future interfaces in their respective design industry. Drawing upon their own practice or current industry practice, students are expected to critically evaluate and analyse the use of future interfaces. The unit encourages students to think beyond the current technology and traditional interfaces oft-used in their own creative practice. As part of the unit students are expected to design a creative outcome in the context of future interfaces. This would entail exploring the relevant future interfaces to drive forward design that goes beyond current industry practice. In addition, students are expected to present their final creative outcomes and to persuasively communicate their creative vision; reflecting on the relevant design and technological implications for their design discipline and industry. |
