| Syllabus: | For over 100 years, design has contributed to the development of new products, services, experiences and processes across a wide range of industires and societies. The aim of this unit is to explore how design is used to fuel innovation across these businesses and communities. You will learn how design is strategically and practically applied by teams, organisations and nations and how it can be embedded into process of change and innovation. Through the analysis and use of design process models, students will explore how design is applied to a wide variety of contexts to tackle seemingly intractable or complex problems. Through an application of design methods, you will be able to develop your own toolkit or repertoire of design methods that suit particular real-life problem situations. You will apply your own design process model and methods to a problem to drive innovation or change either in your own organisation or for a partner organisation or community. |
