| Syllabus: | Students will undertake original research and gain in-depth knowledge in a particular field of biomedical science under the guidance of an academic supervisor based at the School, or in association with an external supervisor from a national or international laboratory where the research will be completed. Students will learn and be assessed on their scientific communication skills in both oral and written presentations of their research. Through the yearlong program, students will gain a breadth of understanding of independent biomedical science research, and develop their ability to perform independent research, identify and solve complex issues, research and utilise literature and to communicate effectively. The research skills developed within this program will provide an attractive credential for students seeking employment in the public or private sectors, and will ensure they are highly competitive for entry into a higher degree research program. |
