Course Overview
Master Degrees (Coursework) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for professional practice, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.
This course will provide you with a thorough foundation in contemporary business theories emphasising the creation and critical evaluation of innovative ideas and strategies within ambiguous and uncertain business environments. Throughout the course, students will complete a broad range of high-level, general and specialised business units. It is aimed primarily at middle and senior managers looking to improve their standing in industry. It combines current business theory and local and international perspectives with hands-on project work. It is interwoven with a core set of values reflecting our commitment to ethical and sustainable corporate governance practices. Located in the heart of the Perth CBD, the Curtin Graduate School of Business provides its students with constant exposure to the culture of excellence and you can be assured your MBA will prepare you for the challenges of an ever-changing business environment.

Course Entry and Completion Details
Applicants for a Master Degree (Coursework) are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://study.curtin.edu.au/. Subject to the duration of the course applicants usually require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent (and may require relevant work experience), Bachelor Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. All Curtin courses have compulsory and other core capabilities that are essential for demonstrating the achievement of course learning outcomes and graduation. Students who are unable to meet or demonstrate those requirements, now or in later stages during their studies, may seek reasonable adjustments by the University wherever possible to facilitate alternative ways of achieving those requirements. If reasonable adjustments cannot be accommodated, Curtin will discuss study options to find an alternative course of study or an exit degree. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Credit may be granted for relevant prior qualifications recognised as being at the same level as the MBA, and/or, relevant professional development programs of equal standing to MBA units.
Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate awards approved for this course:

Course Organisation
Master Degrees (Coursework) contain a series of units in a specialised area of study which may include compulsory (core), optional or elective units to cater for student preferences. They may also contain a range of majors/streams for students to choose from.
This course offers specialisations in Leadership, Energy Futures, Innovation and Business Success, Digital Marketing as well as the generic Business Administration specialisation.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. apply foundation knowledge demonstrating a broad coverage of key functional disciplines of business management with a thorough foundation in contemporary business theories; be able to apply these in a group or organisational environment; extend the boundaries of knowledge through an independently identified research problem using a relevant and methodologically sound set of techniques
2. create, critically evaluate and reflect upon innovative ideas and strategies within ambiguous and uncertain business environments (which includes business, government and not-for-profit)
3. select appropriate information using technologies; make valid judgements and synthesise information from a range of sources; access, evaluate and synthesise diverse information for intelligent business application
4. communicate professionally and effectively in ways to appropriately interpret technical and non-technical information to a varied set of stakeholders, for a range of purposes and to a professional standard
5. select and utilise appropriate technologies and appreciate their advantages and limitations
6. possess and be able to use life-long learning strategies to maintain currency in professional practice
7. recognise and apply international perspectives within the business environment; apply international standards of practice and evaluate issues from a variety of perspectives
8. develop shared understandings of contemporary relevant issues which demonstrate a high and balanced level of cultural awareness in a diverse cultural business setting
9. demonstrate, through self-leadership, a duty of care, honesty, integrity, fairness and knowledge of principles and law to uphold the ethical requirements of the profession
The course may be completed in 2 years full time or the equivalent in part time study. The course may be completed internally or with a mix of both internal and online study. This program provides international students the opportunity to apply for post qualification work visa in Australia after completion.
