Course Overview
Doctoral Degrees prepares students to acquire a systematic and critical understanding of a complex field of learning and specialised research skills to advance learning and/or professional practice corresponding to AQF level 10 qualifications.
Doctor of Philosophy in Construction Management is designed to provide students with higher level research skills and training on the applications of systematic inquiry of the research questions. The course requires an independent and self-driven research approach contributing into the existing field of knowledge.

Course Entry and Completion Details
Applicants for a Doctoral Degree are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards. Applicants require a Master Degree (Research) or Bachelor Honours Degree (first or second class) or a high standard in either a Master Degree (Coursework) or Bachelor Degree with a Graduate Diploma (or equivalent). Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Course Organisation
Doctoral Degrees require students to undertake a program of independent supervised study and produce significant and original research outcomes culminating in a thesis, dissertation, exegesis or equivalent for independent examination.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. demonstrate expert understanding of theoretical knowledge and to reflect critically on that knowledge and their practice
2. think critically, evaluate existing knowledge and ideas, undertake systematic investigation and reflect on theory and practice to generate original knowledge
3. apply expert creative, technical and professional skills to the field of work or learning
4. explain and critique theoretical propositions, methodologies and conclusions
5. present a complex investigation of originality or original research for external examination against international standards
6. communicate complex research concepts, plans and outcomes to the general community, peers and the national and international research community
7. design, implement, analyse, theorise and communicate research that makes a significant and original contribution to knowledge and/or professional practice
