This major provides the knowledge and skills relevant to working in business or government. It does not lead to a professional legal qualification allowing admission to practice as a solicitor or barrister, but it does meet the increasing needs of government and industry for graduates with a background in law and business studies.
Major/Minor/Stream Organisation
The combinations being supported are: Bachelor of Commerce Elective Stream; Business Law & Accounting, Business Law & Marketing; Business Law & International Relations.
Major/Stream Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. Discipline knowledge and professional capabilities.
2. Culturally capable and respectful of Indigenous peoples and knowledges. Graduates will have an applied understanding of Nyungar katajininy warniny, and other First Peoples’ ways of being, knowing and doing.
3. Innovative, creative and entrepreneurial. Graduates will be able to apply their discipline knowledge with intellectual inquiry, be creative leaders in problem solving and transcend traditional ideas.
4. Globally engaged and responsive. Graduates will engage with global perspectives and understand how to apply and adapt their knowledge to a changing environment.
5. Effective communicators with a digital mindset. Graduates will be able to effectively communicate, and confidently use and adapt technology to meet the needs of life, learning and work.
6. Industry connected and career capable. Graduates will be able to create and sustain meaningful work to meet the needs of industry, government and community through engagement and networking.
Duration and Availability
This major is available to international students studying in Australia on a study visa. This major is available online for Australian resident students and international students studying outside of Australia. Due to unit prerequisites, the course duration is extended for those commencing in July.
