Applicants require a Bachelor Degree with a strong academic performance and may also require relevant substantial work experience or Bachelor Honours Degree (first or second class) or Graduate Diploma. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Course Organisation
Master Degrees (Research) require students to undertake an approved research program leading to a thesis for independent examination; they may include advanced level coursework studies.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. demonstrate mastery of theoretical knowledge and to reflect critically on that knowledge and its application
2. investigate, analyse and synthesise complex information, problems, concepts and theories and to apply established theories to different bodies of knowledge or practice
3. generate and evaluate complex ideas and concepts at an abstract level
4. design, use and evaluate research and research methods
5. present a coherent and sustained argument and to disseminate research concepts, plans and results to the general community, peers, and the national and international research community
6. design, evaluate, implement, analyse, theorise and disseminate research that makes an original contribution to knowledge and/or professional practice
Duration and Availability
This Master Degree by Research, taught in English, normally takes two years full-time study or equivalent part-time study.
