Syllabus:

The analytical problem including: impurities, synthetic route and degradation, stability of formulated products. Sampling techniques, standards of purity and reference substances. Separation of mixtures - formulation agents, preservatives, stabilisers and excipients. Solvent extraction. Chromatography, supports, solvents and techniques. The analysis of formulated drug preparations using titrimetric, chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Validity and interpretation of results. Laboratory exercises.
