Syllabus: |
Students gain knowledge and understanding of the medico-legal, professional and ethical principals relating to medical scientists, with an ppreciation of all elements of ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Standard. Knowledge and understanding is developed specifically related to the laboratory's quality system, quality control, continuing quality improvement programs. Students will appreciate all elements of ISO 15189 Quality Standard and the NATA/RCPA supplementary requirements required for laboratory accreditation.Students will attend where possible the continuing education programs provided by laboratory organisations and professional bodies and presentations by specialist and expert scientists invited to speak at the Western Australian Biomedical Research Institute (WABRI) Seminar program, Curtin University. |
