Syllabus:

Classification of rocks and soils for engineering purposes. Classification of weathered rocks and soils. Clay in engineering geology. Rock and soil as construction materials. Geological controls on the stability of foundations of dams, reservoirs and buildings. Site investigation techniques. Geological controls on stability of slopes and excavations. Special mapping and core logging techniques for engineering geologists. Terrain evaluation.
