Syllabus:

This is the foundation unit for the Cultural Heritage major. It introduces a variety of approaches to, and discussions about, the heritage field, and is interested in analysing the political and cultural aspects of the heritage industry. Examination of arange of different representations, including that of indigenous past, in magazine, advertisements, newspapers, museums and historical sites. It provides a language and range of concepts with which to analyse this important area of cultural practice.
