This research course provides an opportunity to undertake a significant study in a range of science fields. Research and thesis topics will be chosen from areas of continuing or emerging significance.
Entry requires completion at a recognised tertiary institution of a degree at bachelor level in relevant branches of science, engineering or computer science with first or second class honours, or a postgraduate diploma in a relevant discipline. Completion of a bachelor degree with a superior performance, together with relevant and substantial work experience, may also meet entry requirements. Refer to Regulations for the Degree of Master (By Research) in the General Information section of the Curtin Courses Handbook.
The course is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study. External study is also available.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
It is a requirement that two-thirds of this course is undertaken by research and only one third by coursework.
