Syllabus:Extension of Professional Practice (Community) 284 by field studies and tuition with selected practising Environmental Health Officers in government authorities and industry, including placement to a rural location. Specific topics include town planning and development control, building inspections and processing building plans, Local Authority Council meetings, Aboriginal health, asbestos management, food legislation.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit, students will be able to demonstrate applications of professional competencies and skills relevant to the duties of environmental health practitioners and an understanding of the role of environmental health professionals in rural and remote areas.
