Syllabus: | Matrix operations and inverses. Systems of linear equations. Vectors, dot and cross products. Equations of lines and planes. Vector spaces and subspaces. Complex numbers. De Moivre's Theorem. Ordinary differential equations - first and second orders. Euler and Runge Kutta methods. Second order linear differential equations with constant co-efficients. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have; Basic skills in the algebra of matrices and vector spaces; Basic skills in the analytical solution of ordinary differential equations and understanding of their uses in real applications; Numerical skills in approximating solutions of ordinary differential equations. |
