Syllabus:Review of solving equations and inequalities. Functions and their graphs, Trigonometric functions, Exponential and Logarithmic functions. Differntiation, Applications of differentiation, Integration, Definite integrals, Growth and Decay models. Matrix algebra.
 
Unit Outcomes: AOn successful completion of this unit the student will be able to: use and apply commonly occurring simple mathematical functions and techniques to the problems arising from chemistry, geology and forensic science. Think logically while using calculus and related mathematical tools. Independently re-learn and use basic calculus techniques. Communicate comfortably in an webCT based online learning environment.
