Syllabus:Designed to foster an understanding of both clinical health problems and health promotion. It will start with an overview of health psychology, health promotion and prevention and subsequent lectures will cover specific clinical health problems such as the assessment and treatment of pain and sexual dysfunction.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate - An understanding of the psychological factors affecting health and illness. An understanding of appropriate assessment and interventions for clinical health problems. An understanding of the theoretical basis and applications of health promotion, prevention and cross-cultural and indigenous issues in health psychology.
