Syllabus:Multimedia content management. Information Retrieval. Bayesian Networks and Applications. Incremental Learning Systems. Advanced Topics in Network Reliability. Advanced Topics on the Application of Control Theory to Networks. Text, Search and Retrieval Systems. Researching, writing and presenting academic/scientific papers (topics include trends in multimedia, web intelligence, ubiquitous computing, current trends in robotics).
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will gain experience and knowledge in major aspects of research and development in advanced topics in computer science, including machine learning technologies, algorithms for search and retrieval of multimedia data and recent developments in areas such as pervasive computing, network security and software engineering.
