Syllabus:Critical discussion of the role of computer-based education - computer managed learning, computer assisted learning and computer supported instruction. The role of the computer in educational systems. Management of computing resources, research into educational computer costing. Applications in schools. Research into instructional modes at all levels of education. Social and organisational implications of computers and technological change.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Increased their knowledge of selected present-day software tools, mastered several Important Internet skills and developed some data processing abilities which might do them well as they pursue their postgraduate career. Evaluated and compared three distinct learning sources, created and published a presentation using PowerPoint and gained more Internet skills.
