Syllabus: | Advanced manual therapy of the peripheral articulations and spinal column. Consolidation of the initial examination and management plan. Comprehensive studies in anatomy, biomechanics and physiology of the neuromusculoskeletal system appropriate to the investigation of the presenting disorders. Formation and testing of diagnostic hypotheses for neuromusculoskeletal disorders and treatment prescriptions. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have conducted a competent examination of a patient with musculoskeletal disorder. Developed a diagnosis which is consistent with the findings of the examination. Identified suitable management options,including treatment by manual therapy and re-evaluated the patient following treatment and identified the ongoing requirements of the patient. Demonstrated competence in administering the treatment chosen for a particular patient. |
