Syllabus:Theory and practice of the prevention of drug related problems. Models of prevention - harm reduction, systems approach, social policy and control of supply, health promotion and education approaches, and social learning models. Mass media, advertising, government controls. Applications to special groups.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Define various prevention objectives. Explain the theoretical base of prevention. Devise a comprehensive systems-oriented prevention plan
