Syllabus:The roles of technology in practical learning contexts. Computers as a professional tool within teaching. Matching technological sophistication levels with identified educational requirements. Typography, graphic depictions and the structuring of information. Designing instructionally effective presentation of verbal and visual information with computers. Evaluation of learning resources representing varied applications of technology in education.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Used print based and electronic technologies effectively to perform a number of educational tasks for your own professional development and for your teaching environment. Incorporated information and communications technology in a variety of educational modes such as support, tutorial, link, resource, exploration and control. Designed a unit of work (programme) integrating learning technology with instructional design techniques. Known where they are and where they want to go with learning technology in their classroom.
