Syllabus: | Knowledge and development of skills associated with human resource management functions, and an understanding of how human resource management may provide the infrastructure necessary to bring an organisation's business operations in line with its strategic planning. It encompasses such topics as the implications of technology for design of jobs, recruitment and selection and the implications for the risk management in a changing workplace. The opportunity to consider the recruitment and selection process from both applicant's and employers' point of view, identifying the skills necessary to select effectively and apply for job successfully. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students sill have - An understanding of the systems, policies and processes that provide an infrastructure for an organisation's ongoing success. An understanding of the management of people within an organisation. Considers the criteria for sound human resource policies and practice that meets organisational requirements. |
