Syllabus:

One of the four units of the English Language Bridging Course that develops competence in the areas of listening and note taking, academic reading and communication skills. Lectures are given on contemporary topics to enable discussions to take place. Uses a range of media such as videos, audiotapes, newspapers and magazines.

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have- Read a variety of academic texts competently. Participated meaningfully in discussions related to reading texts. Listened effectively to a range of listening texts. Made comprehensive notes from lectures.
