| Syllabus: | Develops academic skills required for entrance into tertiary studies. Reading, writing, speaking and listening exercises are utilised to work on communication skills and develop the confidence required for effective communication. |

| Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The ability to read and write, and speak and listen effectively in a range of different social contexts. Demonstrated the basic communication skills required for tertiary study - particularly the ability to read academic texts and write competent essays. |
