Syllabus:Introduction to fundamental mathematical principles and basic numeracy. How mathematical skills are applied in everyday life contexts and practical problem solving are skills gained in this unit.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have demonstrated - Satisfactory completion of eight (8) assignments from graded modules within a given time frame. Confident manipulation of basic mathematical calculations and problem solving. Skills that reduce 'fear' of mathematics. Ability to relate all aspects of mathematics to everyday life.
