Syllabus:Appropriate aims and purposes - learning experiences to fit those aims, organising and structuring of these learning experiences, media and strategies which might be used, evaluation of the effectiveness of the experiences. Each of these aspects will be examined in relation to the needs of pupils with different abilities, backgrounds, interests and enthusiasms.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Demonstrated a sound knowledge of the upper school disciplines - Economics, Geography and History. Demonstrated a familiarity with related disciplines - Ancient History, Australian Studies, Political and Legal Studies, Practical Geography. Analyse Year 11 and 12 TEE and non-TEE syllabus documents. Developed appropriate teaching/learning strategies in order to achieve the syllabus objectives. Prepared and developed teaching programmes including assessment and grading techniques. Evaluated a range of resources within the disciplines. Evaluated the role of the professional associations and co-curricular activities. Identified the current trends in curriculum development at upper secondary school level.
