Syllabus:Advanced theory and practice of writing poetry. Individual, work and critical workshop discussion.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Examined poetry from a prosodic point of view - how aural (and visual) structures make meaning. Examined poetry from a conceptual point of view - how figurative language, imagery and metaphor make meaning. Examined poetry from a cultural point of view - how genres make meaning, for example, the pastoral and the sonnet. Examined sociopolitical reading/writing considerations.
