Syllabus:An introduction to the methodologies of science, focusing on human body systems and functions involved in movement (skeletomuscular systems), and maintenance (nutrition, internal transport, respiration and excretion). Classwork and assessments will promote the formation of teams and the development of co-operative learning skills.
 
Unit Outcomes: This unit is intended to - Extend students' biological knowledge and understanding of the structure and function of human systems to the level required for entry into university courses in this subject. Familiarise students with the vocabulary used to describe the body and its many systems. Assist students in developing both co-operative and independent learning skills. Provide an integrated approach to learning, drawing on other disciplines such as Chemistry and Mathematics.
