Syllabus: | Advanced level of assessment, treatment and sports specific rehabilitation for injuries, spinal and peripheral joints and associated muscle and soft tissue structures. Clinical experience in sports and soft tissue injury clinics, hospitals and private practice settings and sporting clubs in regular training and in competition. Recent developments in sports physiotherapy and sports medicine. |

Unit Outcomes: | Upon completion of the unit students will have - Developed an in depth and advanced level of theoretical and clinical specialised competency in the diagnosis management, rehabilitation and prevention of sports specific injuries. Demonstrated competency in acute management of sports injuries when working at a sports coverage event. Integrated clinical reasoning skills and current research findings with clinical examination, and evaluated these to the level of evidence for the efficacy of physiotherapy management approaches when treating various sports injuries. |
