Syllabus: | Introduction to qualitative and quantitative research methodologies used in occupational therapy practice. Use of systematic reviews to inform practice. Professional practice emphasising clinical reasoning, communication, assessment, planning and intervention. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Compared and contrasted the concepts of theory construction and theory testing. Critically analysed qualitative and quantitative paradigms of research. Critically evaluated research, assigning itto different levels of evidence as per the evidence based practice guidelines. Demonstrated ability to comply with research ethics within both the University and practice settings. Demonstrated competency in professional behaviour, professional communication skills, assessment, planning, intervention, clinical reasoning and reflection, during professional practice. |
