Syllabus:	Theories and practices related to the ability of children and adolescents with developmental delay or impairment to engage in occupational roles in the home and community. Theories and principles of psychosocial, cognitive, sensory, perceptual and motor interventions for children and adolescents.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated the ability to apply knowledge of typical age-appropriate competencies to determine the extent of developmental delay and impairment in children and adolescents. Applied appropriatetheoretical approaches to occupational therapy practice with children and adolescents. Selected, administered and interpreted assessments that are appropriate to the needs of the child and adolescent with physical, psychosocial or cognitive dysfunction that includes consideration of age, gender, ethnicity, occupations, functional performance and environmental demands. Designed and evaluated appropriate interventions for the child and adolescent with the home and other environments.
